For this year’s artwork, Zenzy Blindeling brings together hands adorned with jewelry from different traditions. Rings, shells, beads, charms and gold move across the image, carrying stories from one hand to the next. Each piece holds its own meaning and history.

Together, they speak of memory, protection, identity and connection. The hands reflect the many people and communities who carry these traditions forward and add something of themselves along the way. Zenzy’s artwork brings this year’s theme, Heirlooms, to life. It invites us to think about what we carry with us, what we pass on and what we leave behind.
